Adrienne Peacock is a professor emeritus at Douglas College where she taught biology, ecology and environmental science for 20 years. Adrienne has a PhD. in Zoology from the University of British Columiba. She is also an accomplished painter and is an active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists.
Adrienne is one of the panelists who will speak at a free public symposium on Site C – “We are all Treaty people” – at Douglas College in New Westminister from 6:30 to 9:30 pm on Thursday, July 5.
Why should the Site C dam be halted?
“The Peace River valley is unique. It contains thousands of years of First Nations culture, including their graveyards, amazing biological diversity and agricultural productivity. To destroy this for energy we do not need is the definition of insanity.”
What can we do to stop it?
“We need public pressure, but the First Nations courageous court actions are our best hope.”
